Nowadays, material possessions have grown to become a large part in our lives. Though, some may doubt and raise their suspicions ? do they really make us happy?　 I personally agree that material possession makes life easy, convenient along side happy. Firstly, it provides us a comfortable and leisurely life. Secondly because, in most societies, people believe the more possession you have the better. Lastly, it’s great feeling when you own something precious.

Material possessions bring convenience, leisure, and comfort to our life. Television provides us entertainment; cars provide us convenience; a nice home provides a warm shelter and comfort. Even though most of those are things we could live without, we have to admit that it brightens up out life little.

In various religions, it is restricted to retain something of your own. But in our society, it’s somewhat otherwise. People like owning things; they show off about it; they want to own more. It makes them peculiar, and they enjoy it. And surely people wouldn’t take pleasure in something that makes them unhappy?

Since there are girls and boys in each classroom， the communication with each other cannot be avoided. Then comes a problem： how shall we look at it？ From my point of view， it’s quite a natural， common thing and there’s nothing wrong with it. My reasons are as follows.

To begin with， the class is like a big family in which every student，whether a boy or a girl， is a member. Therefore， it’s quite natural for girl students to communicate with boy students just like brothers and sisters. Besides， proper communication can smooth away misunderstanding and develop friendship. Finally， it is generally believed that girls are able to help make up for the boys’ carelessness while boys are supposed to help girls solve some maths and physics problems.

However， there is always the other side to the coin. Too much and close staying-together may bring about negative effect （影響） for example falling in love， which may waste their time for study.

Anyway， as long as students can develop a proper attitude toward the communication between boy students and girl students instead of going to extreme， positive effect will certainly be greater than negative effect.

從上文不難看出，英語議論文在語言表達形式上主要有兩大特點：

1.較多使用表達委婉語氣的詞語和句子

與英語說明文相比，英語議論文不僅需要說明自己的觀點，還要讓讀者接受自己的觀點，因此，在詞語表達上除了客觀之外，還必須注意委婉。在英語中，常用虛擬語氣，以及讓步狀語從句和情態動詞can， could， may， might， would， should等。

2. 使用有辯論、推理等含義的連接詞和過渡詞等詞語結構

英語議論文講究辯論推理的條理性和邏輯性，因此，往往較多地使用這類性質的過渡詞和連接詞，常用的包括：since （既然），now that （既然），therefore （因而），accordingly （因此），in that case（在那種情況下），because （因為），so （所以）。另外，還有些句型也常出現在英語議論文中，比如：It follows that...（因而……），Should it be the case （如果是這樣的話……），I don’t want to...， but...（我并不想……，但是……），If you admit...， then...（如果你承認……，那么……），It is true that...， but...（誠然……，但是……）， Even if...（即使……）等。
